Ehost.com has been operating since 1998, providing online services for individuals and businesses. The company is managed from Houston, Texas, providing web hosting service for over one million websites.
Their simple to use shared hosting plan includes a Drag and Drop site builder with over 1000 free templates, free domain name, unmetered storage and bandwidth, allows unlimited add-on domains, free marketing credits with over $300. The hosting account is managed with cPanel, so you can easily manage emails, websites, and files and install the scripts you like, for instance WordPress.
In the next part of this eHost review I will reveal the pros and cons of the company.
Pros of eHost.com
Cheap hosting plan: the introduction price is only $2.75 per month, which is 50% off from the original cost of the hosting plan. This plan is ideal to host personal and small business websites.
Manage your account with cPanel: it is the most popular and best software to manage any web hosting account. With cPanel you will be able to easily create new email addresses, install WordPress, Joomla or other content management system, add-on new domains to your account, manage files, FTP accounts and a lot more.
Drag & Drop website builder tool: if you choose not to build your site with WordPress, you can use the SiteBuilder offered by eHost. This tool comes with lots of great features, which enables you to quickly create a website without the need of knowing all those techy stuff. With the drag and drop function, it is easy to create custom layouts, add new pages, contact from, maps, galleries, etc. There is a huge gallery of templates you can use, and each design is responsive.
Money back guarantee: your satisfaction is guaranteed through the 45 day money back policy offered by ehost.com. If you feel that their hosting is not right for you, or you are not happy with their service, or for whatever reason you need your money back, just submit an email ticket to their support department and ask for a refund. It is worth checking out their terms to see which services are refundable.
Marketing credits & bonuses: with each hosting plan you buy from eHost, you will benefit of a free domain name, as well $200 worth marketing credits on Google, Yahoo/Bing networks. After you sing up, you will have to claim the credits, so keep in mind that this is not an automated process.
Cons of eHost.com
Shared hosting only: as mentioned before, eHost is great for hosting small websites. The downside is that if your website exceeds a certain amount of server usage due to growing traffic, you will have to move to another host, which offer VPS and Dedicated plans.
Only Linux hosting: eHost’s servers are running on Linux; so if your plan is to develop your website using ASP.net (which is available only on Windows servers), eHost is not the hosting company you should choose.
eCommerce hosting: although eHost allows you to install different eCommerce software via your hosting account, shared hosting is not good for hosting an online store. A store website will quickly use more resources than it is permitted, so it does not worth trying it out for this purpose.
Wrapping up my eHost Review
Would I recommend eHost? From my testing I figured out, that eHost work very well with websites built with their SiteBuilder software. It also performs quite well with WordPress websites. I would definitely recommend eHost.com for hosting your personal hobby website or your small business site which does not receive a huge amount of traffic. For anything else, like eCommerce, forum or a large blog, eHost might not be the perfect option.
